Won over Indianapolis
Lost to Milwaukee
Lost to Chicago

The Beat the Streets Cleveland trip to Chicago was a great experience.   Several wrestlers from around Northeast Ohio competed for Team Cleveland.  Chicago won the event for the second year in a row.  Cleveland finished in a three way tie for second place with Milwaukee and Indianapolis, as all three teams finished the day with a 1-2 record.

For several wrestlers on the team, this was their first Freestyle or Greco-Roman competition (matches alternated between the two styles).

At the conclusion of the competition, the team went sightseeing in Chicago and visited Millennium Park and he world famous “bean”.

The highlight of the sightseeing was the Ledge, a glass box 103 floors from the ground at the top of the Willis Tower.

Team Cleveland – in a glass box, 1,353 feet above the ground!

This trip was funded by grants and private donations so there was no cost to the team.  We hope to continue this trend and provide more opportunities for little to no cost for the participants. To learn more about the mission of Beat the Streets Cleveland, please click here.

Special thanks to the Ohio Athletic Committee, and the Power Club for their generous grants!

Free Wrestling Clinic 4/22

The USMC Sports Leadership Academy will be coming to Cleveland on April 22 to Cleveland State University.  This free 1 day clinic aims to combine the rigor of athletic development with the leadership training of the United States Marines.  Clinicians for the day will include the Head Coaches from Cleveland State University and John Carroll University, Ben Stehura & Mark Hawald.

We are looking for high school aged wrestlers for the event.  We are inviting your wrestlers to come and take part in the clinic and receive hands on mat training from top college coaches as well as leadership training directly from the United States Marines.  Registration is free and wrestlers will receive a free t-shirt, a Marine bag with goodies from the USMC, and lunch will be provided.

Please contact if any of your wrestlers are interested in being a part of this event and we can get them registered.  Or use the link to the registration page that you can have your wrestlers complete.
